Vero Beach, FL a.k.a Velcro Beach

Appropriately named Velcro Beach as so many cruisers don't leave....there are a number of them that have been there for a month, five years and more.....It's a lovely spot...feasible and easy access to shopping but most of all..it had the most protection we had seen since Nova Scotia. In fact we had met up with some formilar Dartmouth Yacht Club Members....see if you recognize this couple?

Yes, it was a lovely evening, super and company with Wendy and Jack. Thanks again. Later, in the week we had bumped into Terry and Wendy at the fuel dock. We were preparing to move out the next morning and continue our journey south when they came puddling up on their bikes. Saw their new SeaRay...nice boat for a power boat!
Also while anchored here at Palm Beach, we had ran across a couple of boats that have visited DYC. Pilgrim...first comment was "We finally met the couple on the CS27"
How does one take this comment? We were told it was a compliment.

This is a voice from your pass.

Good day, long time no see. I was talking to CPO 2 A. Baird and our conversation somehow came on you.

I never thought that you would be going around the world in a fiberglass boat :-). What ever happen to the indisputable link that always kept Hull Tech and wooden boat together :-).

Anyway; I am glad that you are enjoying yourself. As for myself, I will finally join the Dark Side and become a Civilian First Class just like you, on April Friday the thirteen. Well, I never was too superstitious and going out on a Friday the thirteen, why not. It only means bad luck to the Military not for me.

I will have to wait another two years before I can do some serious traveling, since my Commander & Chief (Wife) still has 2 years to go for her pension.

Now; I will have to find a Steam Power Motorhome. Because my Commander & Chief told me “Enough with the Navy and the Boat”. However, not all is lost. I have a plan to snivel my way around that statement; but it will take time and a lot of brown-nosing .

So someday,if everything goes as per my evil plan and I finally convince her that sailboat (with a steam power standby propulsion system) is the way to go, we will see you guys on the sea.

Have fun.

Boomer.
